Thank you for visiting our website. My name is Billy Price and I have been pastor at Faith Baptist
Church for the last 30 plus years. I was the founding pastor and this is the only church that I have
ever served. I was born in Farmville Virginia and traveled extensively with my father who was in the
military. We finally settled in Lynchburg, Virginia. I attended E.C.Glass high school and then went on
to Liberty University.
My wife, Elaine and I have truly enjoyed our ministry here at Faith. I enjoy teaching and preaching the
Word of God. I have preached through over 35 books in the Bible and I never tire of studying God’s
book. I am truly blessed to have a job that I love and I look forward to going to work. God has
blessed us with two grown children and four grandchildren.
Our ministry has had high and low points just like life. But I can honestly thank God for putting me into
the ministry. I have been so blessed in this high calling that God has placed on my life. God has
blessed me with a wonderful congregation of people who love the Lord and me.
If the Lord allows me, I would like to spend the rest of my days serving Him here in the mountains of
Virginia. My constant prayer is that God would draw someone to Jesus through this ministry. Thanks
for your interest and I hope you can visit us soon.
And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful,
putting me into the ministry, 1 Tim. 1:1

The Lord led Jane and me to Covington 16 years ago, but before coming here we had been in
Georgia most of the time since 1972.
I started my walk with the Lord in 1954, and in 1956, enrolled in Piedmont Baptist College working on
my Music major degree with a minor in Christian education. However, I only went for 1-1/2 years and
soon moved back to Portsmouth, Virginia, in the summer of 1957. I served in a part time voluntary
ministry at Biltmore Baptist Church in youth and music with Jane right there helping.
In 1961, I went to work at Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry dock Company and we moved to
Newport News and served at Beacon Baptist Church in youth and music. In 1972, the Lord led us to
Stockbridge, Georgia, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where I went into full time ministry in Youth and
Music.
In 1974, I returned to college and graduated in 1976 with a Bachelor Degree in Christian Education
with a minor in music. Upon graduating, we moved to Barnesville,.Georgia, and began my first ministry
as principal of Tabernacle Christian Academy. From there, we moved to Richmond, Virginia and
ministered in youth and music at Goodwill Baptist Church. then we moved back to Barnesville,
Georgia, to serve as principal and associate pastor at Central Baptist Church.
In 1981, I accepted a call to Calvary Baptist Church as pastor and principal of their Christian school.
In 1990, I accepted the call to Faith Baptist Church here in Covington as Associate pastor, minister of
music and education. These 16 years have been the best years of our ministry, and as I have told the
people at Faith many times, "Our time here is like an oasis in the desert", because we have a great
pastor and wonderful, caring, thoughtful people we serve with. This is a wonderful combination to
have as we walk with the Lord, we hope that you will be able to visit us soon and see for yourselves.

When Leann, Aubri, and I moved from our lifelong home of Beckley, WV to Covington, VA in August,
2006, we could not have imagined what God would have in store for us. We found a beautiful area,
friendly people, great new friends, and an incredible church family! He didn’t stop there though. As
Leann, Aubri, and I continued to get to know our new church family, God opened up the door for me
to become part of the great staff here at Faith Baptist Church.
I am humbled and excited about being part of such a special pastoral team, and staff. I pray that I am
able to be a big help to everyone at Faith, and most of all I hope that people see the Lord Jesus in
me, and that I am able to bring God glory. Leann is also very excited about sharing in this ministry with
me. I could not ask for a better partner. She was a huge help to me in my previous ministry at Mt.
Tabor Baptist Church in Beckley, where I served for 4 years as the Youth Director. I thank God every
day for gifting me with such a wonderful wife.
I never cease to be amazed that God, who can use anything He wants to bring about His plans and
anything to receive glory, chooses to use people for His purposes. People really are His passion, and
I continue to try to endeavor to let that be true of me as well. I am so thankful God chose me to
minister for Him. I am very unworthy of such a high calling, but very grateful for it. My family is thrilled
to be part of this wonderful church family, and is eager to serve alongside each precious saint here.
To God be the glory, for great things He has done-and will continue to do!
