Charter
In the year of our Lord, October 28,
1975
WE, the undersigned, relying on the guidance of the Holy Spirit and by the signing of our names hereto do agree and
covenant with the Lord Jesus Christ and with one another that we do constitute ourselves as Charter Members of the Faith
Baptist Church, Covington, Virginia.
FURTHER, we, the undersigned, each declare and confess with our faith wholly in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation by the
experience of the new birth that we have been Scripturally baptized and therefore are qualified to be Members.
ALSO, we, the undersigned, do believe in those great distinctive principles for which
born again Christians have ever stood, namely:
1. The pre-eminence of Christ as our Divine Lord and Master
2. The supreme authority of the Bible and its sufficiency as our only rule of faith and practice
3. The right of private interpretation and the competency of the individual soul in direct approach to God
4. The absolute separation of Church and State
5. The regenerate church membership
6. The beautiful symbolic ordinance of believer's baptism and the Lord's Supper in obedience to the command of
Christ
7. The complete independence of the local church and its inter-dependence in associated fellowship with other
churches
8. The solemn obligation of majority rule, guaranteeing equal rights to all and special privileges to none
9. A world-wide program of missionary fervor and evangelism in obedience to the final command of the Lord
10. The personal, imminent, pre-millennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ
AND, we, the undersigned, accept the doctrines of the Articles of Faith included herein; and, accept the duties of the
Church Covenant included herein; we assemble ourselves together as the Faith Baptist Church, and adopt for our plan of
outreach, government, and service the by-laws included herein.
